Simple daily rituals to help improve or maintain your skin’s health!

Many of us are always on the hunt for new ways and skincare products that will provide us with ‘perfect skin. But newsflash, there’s no such thing as perfect skin! Over most recent years, the world of ‘excepting who we are and the skin we’re in’ has finally become an important movement within the beauty community. But although we should embrace flaws, conditions and skin differences, the skin is the largest organ on our body, so it’s important we protect our skin from dehydration, sun damage and harmful toxins. And guess what? This can all be achieved by the simplest, daily rituals!


Here are 5 ways you can help protect and improve your skin’s health everyday!




1. Wash your face every morning and evening

This is something you probably already knew… but how often do you actually wash your face each day? Our skin renews more than ever than we sleep, so by washing our face we’re protecting and encouraging the new skin cells to be healthy and thriving.


2. Eat at least one piece of fruit a day

Eating fruit is a natural and organic way to look after not just the inside of our body but the outside too. Many fruits are packed with beneficial vitamins that all contribute to our skins health.



The most beneficial fruits to eat are:

Mangoes

Papaya

Oranges

Lemon

Pineapple

Watermelon


3. Drink plenty of water!

We should we drinking at least 2.17 litres of water PER DAY. How often and how much water do you drink a day?

Drinking water is the most fundamental ways of preventing dehydration in our skin and it will keep your skin plump and youthful for much longer in your life.



4. Wear SPF

Wherever you live in the world, SPF is one of the main ways to protect your skin. Over 60% of the worlds population have some form of sun-damage, and although you may not think you do - there’s a high chance you actually do! Apply SPF to your skin every morning to protect your skin throughout the day.

Did you know, you can still get sun damage on dull, cloudy days?



5. Keep your stress levels low

For many, this may be the hardest one to achieve. But scientist and studies have found our stress levels can have a detrimental effect on our skins overall health. Find something that keeps your stress-levels at bay, and implement this ritual into your daily routine for healthy skin.


This could be:

Reading a book

Getting some fresh air

Meditation/Yoga

Working out

Breathing exercises

Playing with your pet



Top tip: did you know by hugging someone it releases Oxytocin’s into our body resulting in a mood-lifting sensation? Get hugging!
