BB cream is a skincare product disguised as a foundation-like make up product, where BB stands for blemish balm. The product that has been around for 50 years was first created by a German dermatologist.
The consistency of BB cream is thicker than a regular moisturiser but thinner than a foundation. The cream basically combines the two things together to create a product that gives sufficient coverage, including that of small blemishes, at the same time as moisturising your skin and giving protection from the sun (contains a low SPF). BB cream also contains advantages like being anti-aging, due to the anti-oxidants like Vitamins A, C and E. This product is one you can use on a day to day basis as it is far better for your skin than normal foundation.
Examples of brands that sell BB cream are Maybelline, Garnier, Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Estée Lauder. They are available to buy from any beauty store like Boots and Superdrug and the prices range from anywhere between £5 and £50. The product is of course available in different shades.
