Some may call theirs a gift and some a curse, but we see all types of skin as a blessing as a team made up of writers with a variety of skin types and skin conditions. We are constantly sharing tips and tricks in order to stamp out our problematic skin, embrace our flaws and pores and simply love our imperfections whatever they may be. There are so many sponsored YouTube skin product videos, leaving it hard to decide whose opinion you can trust. WIPED love to bare all and thought what better way to do this than by giving readers an insight into the products we use on a daily basis that help combat our not so cooperative skin and give us a healthy glow.

Taylor, Editor (acne prone skin): "My ride or die product is the infamous Micellar Water. After spending many years (and lots of money) on high end, luxury products, I’ve come to realise sometime less is more. It's easy to use, amazingly effective and best of all… super affordable!"
Micellar water is made up of oil cleansing molecules that attract the impurities in your skin. It can be used as a facial wash, moisturizer and make up remover. Because Micellar water has no alcohol, it is incredibly gentle and great for those with sensitive skin.

Lauryn, Deputy Editor (large pores): "My go to product would have to be the Clarins SOS Hydra mask. It is my go to product all year round, however I find my skin really reaps the benefits of this product during Winter. I like to use this mask before a night out as it really shrinks my pores so when I apply my makeup, I have a smooth finish.”
Face masks are great for those with large pores. They are highly absorbent and draw out excess moisture from the skin,

Lauren, Features Editor (combination skin): “I definitely feel like I was late to the Witch Hazel party but now I have arrived I can never go back! I personally use Witch Hazel toner infused with lemon as lemons are packed with Vitamin C which naturally help to increase your skins collagen production. In an attempt to achieve perfect skin over the years I have ended up damaging my skin rather than perfecting it. My Witch Hazel toner is great for soothing irritation caused by any acidic products I use and also fading out scarring caused by hyperpigmentation.”
Witch Hazel can also be used to remove make up as it breaks up water and oil molecules and as an astringent, shrinks pores.

Emily, Subeditor (eczema): "Suffering from eczema can make it difficult to wear makeup from day to day, especially if my face is dry or slightly flaky. So, on days when I want a bit of extra coverage, I turn to Garnier’s Skin Active BB cream. It provides just the right amount of coverage to leave me looking fresh faced and moisturized - especially when I may be having a bad skin day. Sometimes, I even use it instead of foundation on a night out because it's a lot less harmful for my skin!"
BB creams are a great alternative to make up for both men and women. They are a great 'all in one' product that helps to conceal, protect and hydrate your skin on its worst days with less skin irritating products than foundation.

Shenelle, News Editor (combination skin): “My skin type is a mixture of combination, sensitive and acne- prone. After a few years of trial and error I found that mostly natural and products with as little ingredients work best for my skin. As a result, I try to keep a minimalistic skincare routine as chemical based products only worsen my skin. The great thing about natural products is that they are quite affordable and are a great alternative to high end products in my eyes. I think my go to would have to be Aloe Vera gel as it's incredibly moisturising and is a great cooling agent. It has also helped with my scarring tremendously.”
